Dawn Lawson’s Merc, which she had bought on her 50th birthday, was stolen right from her driveway. Inconsolable and devastated Lawson made a post of the theft on her Facebook page and within 15 minutes it was shared and re-shared by her friendly Facebook community. Her Facebook friend, Chris Parker took it upon himself to track down Lawsons Mercedes and he successfully tracked it down and reunited it with Dawson Lawson who is a salon owner from Gateacre, was out shopping when her car keys were stolen from her house. She didnt notice the theft until her  husband arrived home two hours. The 52-year-old told the Liverpool Echo: “I was cooking dinner about two hours later when my husband came in and asked where my car was. “I was devastated.” After reporting the theft to the police and her insurance company, Dawn, of Liverpool, posted a picture of it on Facebook. Chris Parker who is in her Facebook friends list and a rival salon owner saw the image in his timeline and shared it with his groups. Chris said: “It was shared almost 100 times and within 15 minutes I had a message from someone who said the car was on their street.” Chris and Dawn went to the place where friends of Chris have seen it parked and Dawn was able to drive her car home. Dawn said: “I just couldn’t believe it when Chris told me they had found it. “It is fantastic and it just goes to show Facebook can work properly.” She added: “I am thrilled to have my car back and I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped.” Merseyside Police said it was called at about 6.10pm on Tuesday to a report that the car had been stolen Resource : Liverpool Echo.
